CHICAGO, Dec 30 (Reuters) – Spot foundation bids for corn and soybeans had been principally regular to softer within the U.S. Midwest on Friday in subdued commerce forward of a three-day weekend, with freight shortages slowing grain motion in some northern states, merchandisers stated.
* Union Pacific Corp stated it embargoed rail visitors on its strains in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin beginning Dec. 29 as a result of latest extreme climate and forecasts for snow and ice over the subsequent week. Together with Union Pacific, CSX Corp warned of delays earlier this week.
* The rail corn foundation fell 3 cents Friday on the Evansville, Indiana, terminal and 5 cents at an elevator in Council Bluffs, Iowa. However the foundation firmed 10 cents at Toledo, Ohio.
* The soybean foundation fell 15 cents at a Des Moines, Iowa, processing plant. Just a few places have rolled their soybean foundation to submit in opposition to the CBOT March futures contract SH3 because the January contract SF3 nears its Jan. 13 expiration.
* U.S. markets and authorities workplaces will probably be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of the New 12 months’s Day vacation, with commerce resuming on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
